Temporary and PMMA restorations
Lab-made PMMA temporaries and long-term provisionals that protect the preparation and let your patient trial the shape, bite and appearance.

What it is
PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) is a high-quality acrylic that we mill or print from your scan or a diagnostic wax-up. Lab-made provisionals are usually stronger and fit better than chairside temporaries.
When to choose it
- While a final crown or bridge is being made
- Longer-term provisionals during implant healing or full-mouth rehabilitation
- Trialling a new vertical dimension, tooth shape or smile design before the final restoration
What to send us
- A scan or impression of the preparations
- A diagnostic wax-up or smile design, if available
- How long the provisional needs to last
Frequently asked questions
How long can a PMMA provisional last?
Lab-made PMMA provisionals are designed for longer-term use than chairside temporaries. Tell us how long the provisional needs to stay in so we can plan the design.
Can a provisional be copied for the final crown?
Yes. Once the patient is happy with the shape and bite, the provisional can be scanned and used as a guide for the final restoration.
